What is collective buying?

Collective buying is a strategy where a group of individuals or organizations come together to purchase goods or services in bulk, with the goal of obtaining lower prices and better terms than if they were to purchase individually. This is often achieved through group negotiation or by leveraging the combined buying power of the group.


Examples of collective buying include:


  • Group buying clubs: Organizations that bring together consumers to purchase products in bulk, often at a discounted price.
  • Cooperatives: Cooperatives are businesses owned and operated by their members, who share in the profits and benefits.
  • Group purchasing organizations (GPOs): GPOs are organizations that represent a group of businesses and negotiate contracts with suppliers on their behalf.


Generally, collective buying yields:
